Einreiserechte in den Schengen-Raum.

Entry rights to the Schengen area.

In connection with the decision of the EU to temporarily close the border for the entry of foreign citizens for 30 days, the Consulate General of Italy in Moscow accepts for consideration documents with a departure no earlier than April 18. The declaration of Possession of a visa does not grant the citizen an automatic right to enter the Schengen area. The visa holder, being at the border of entry into the territory of the Schengen area, must present a passport with a valid visa and, at the request of the border police, the necessary documentation confirming the purpose of the stay. For a Schengen visa, documentation may be requested to confirm the following facts: – proof of stay, purpose, and conditions of stay (for example round-trip air ticket, hotel reservation, invitation, etc.); – financial guarantee (cash, traveler’s checks, international credit cards, etc.); – a health insurance policy valid in the Schengen area with a minimum coverage of 30,000 euros, sufficient to cover the costs of hospitalization and repatriation. The absence of supporting documents may result in a denial of entry into the territory of the Schengen area by the border police. Failure to comply with the obligations stipulated by the rules of stay in the territory of the Schengen area may entail the adoption of measures for expulsion from the territory of the Schengen area by the police authorities of the Member State. An urgent message from the Consul General of Italy in Moscow: “I would like to urge all Russian citizens applying for an Italian visa not to trust intermediaries or agencies that guarantee long-term visas in exchange for a certain amount of money. Such offers are illegal, and the one who agrees to pay commits an offense prosecuted under Russian and Italian laws…”  More… For detailed information, interested persons can apply directly to the diplomatic or consular representation of Italy, which has jurisdiction over the place of permanent residence of the applicant.
